Freedom Thorn Resistant Tube 26 x 1.50-1.75 with 48mm Schrader Valve
A thorn resistant tube offers better puncture protection. This Freedom Thorn Resistant tube, being thicker on the road side and thinner on the rim side, offers lower rolling weight than a standard thornproof tube.
The clue is in the wording, these tubes are thorn resistant, NOT thornproof. They will resist puncturing from a lot of road debris but if you get out in cat-head or three corner jack thorn country, you might want to take additional steps to prevent being stopped in your tracks by punctures. An alternative that works quite effectively would be a tyre with inbuilt puncture protection. Some people still use a thorn resistant bicycle tube to give them double protection. You may also want to consider a foam type solid tube along with a tubeless tyre setup.
Our friendly team at Wollongong Bike Hub can help you choose the best tyre and tube combination to suit your ride style.
